Dr. Decatur Rogers announced his intention to step down as dean of CoETCS

Dear Colleagues:

A few days ago Dr. Decatur Rogers announced his intention to step down as dean of the College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science on December 31, 2007. At that time he will become a Distinguished University Professor with on going responsibilities for research, outreach and he will continue teaching some courses for the College.

Dean Rogers has served the University with distinction since assuming the position of Dean in 1988. His visionary efforts helped transform the College of Engineering, Technology and Computer Science at Tennessee State University into one of the very best. President Johnson and I are grateful for his noteworthy contributions, and we wish him well in his new endeavors.

We applaud Dr. Rogers for his many years of dedicated service to TSU and the TSU College of Engineering, Technology and Computer Science. We wish him the best of success in his new role at TSU. As one of our most distinguished alumni, he has left huge shoes to fill. We must all rally together and work as "one team" to assure the future success of our college and its students. Activities are in the works to recognize Dr. Rogers for his many years of service to the college and we will be discussing this matter at our upcoming Homecoming 2007 meeting, on November 2nd, 2007. Please make plans to attend.
