“The excellence of my CoETCS education and experience has allowed me to participate in the design of many major engineering projects (bridge design) throughout the State of Tennessee as a Structural Engineer with the Department of Transportation. Not only did my CoETCS education give me the background and basic skill of logical thinking but I also acquired a well-rounded education by associating with the high caliber of fellow students and professors. This prepared me for the rigors of the Engineering profession. The CoETCS core curriculum gave me the depth and basic skills to survive in the engineering world and the leadership opportunities it provided attributed to me being a well-rounded person. In all these respects, I learned how the "world works" and gained the confidence to believe that I should, could and would make a difference in the world. All of these, I must say, have prepared me to become not only successful in my engineering profession but most importantly as an individual.”

"My endowment gift reflects the profound belief that I have in the CoETCS program. To Give Back is PIVOTAL in maintaining the quality and stability of my alma mater. Hopefully it will better assist the University to continue to recruit the "Best and the Brightest" students and faculty nationwide. Endowment funds guarantee the viability of any University for generations to come. Just as private colleges and universities succeed and rely stricly upon private funding from their alumni and community, institutions like TSU must seek a combination of public and private support just to stay afloat. We MUST give back! While attending TSU, I was awarded a Dwight Eisenhower & Tennessee Road Builders scholarship and without the support of endowment funds such as this whether donations come from individuals, companies and/or community organizations; I along with hundreds of other students might not have ever received such an opportunity! Such a small gift for the life-long reward I was given. I felt that in my heart I didn't have a choice but to give back. In the future I hope that all past alumni and friends will consider an endowment gift to sustain the legacy and benefit that it provides.”
