THE TSU CoETCS 'MIGHTY 100' PROFILE OF EXCELLENCE #29. Michael Holmes Mr. Holmes has over thirty-three years of experience in Research & Development, Sales, Business Development, Engineering, and Management, refined over the course of his career with AT&T Bell Laboratories and Lucent Technologies. Mr. Holmes’ professional affiliations include a TSU Foundation Board Member, a member of the Illinois West Suburban Technology Enterprise Center (WESTEC) Executive Advisory Board, an Executive Advisor to the Alliance of Black Lucent Employees (ABLE) Great Lakes Chapter, and a member of IEEE and the National Technical Association. He is also a dedicated Career Advisor. Mr. Holmes was born in Memphis, Tennessee, received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee State University in 1973, and a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 1974. In addition, he completed an Executive Development Management Program at the Johnson School of Business, Cornell University. He lives in Naperville, Illinois, with his wife Adrienne and has two children, Dorian and Michael II. He enjoys Golfing and gardening. He is an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

Mr. Michael (Mike) G. Holmes is the Vice President of Lucent Worldwide Services (LWS) Global Services Technologies & Tools. The LWS Global Services Technologies & Tools Organization manages the Systems Engineering, Architectural Design, Development and Delivery of LWS new revenue-generating Services, and supports the New Product and Service Readiness for all Lucent Products ensuring smooth market and customer introduction of new Lucent Products and Services. This scope covers RF Performance, RF Methods and Procedures, Mobile Handset Interoperability compliance testing, Wireline Network Performance, Technology Assets, Voice/Data quality, leads the interface with Bell Labs Advanced Technologies, and continues to support Lucent‘s open-standards, cross-platform development efforts and forging key partnerships, building long term business relationships with the key decision-makers to determine how Lucent’s products and/or services could help customers run their business better.
