#47. R. Renée McCleary
R. Renée McCleary is currently a Business Partner Manager with the Business Partner Management Group of Lucent Technologies' Information Technologies Organization. She is responsible for providing leadership and consultation to Network Solutions business partner leaders on the strategic and operational matters impacting their business. Renée works collaboratively with business leaders and managers to provide IT innovative solutions, approaches, and value focused on driving the success of their business.
Renée has worked for over 18 years in the communications industry and has served in numerous technical roles. Prior to her current role, Renée held numerous leadership positions in Information Technologies and Research and Development organizations throughout the company’s convergence solutions - Switching Business Groups. In Research and Development, she has worked as a software engineer, lead test engineer and project manager.
Renée is a 1988 graduate of Tennessee State University where she earned an undergraduate degree in Computer Science. Renée also holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from the Howard University. She is a member of the Alpha Kappa Mu National Honor Society.
Renée resides in Bolingbrook, Illinois. In her spare time she is active in her local church and community. She credits the College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science faculty members and advisors with being instrumental in establishing her career. “They were dedicated to helping me plan my strategies for research, evaluating, and selecting various programs of study at the university. They were also involved in inviting visiting professors from the corporate arena to provide exposure to the real life work experience.”

Some students cannot afford to finance their education alone. They need financial support and encouragement that comes from mentoring and role models. With our help, we can help the TSU CoETCS students fulfill their potential. Therefore, I believe that it is important to have a stake in this vital initiative.”
