TSU CoETCS Student Pre-Engineering Readiness Fund - HOW TO GIVE
Greetings TSU College of Engineering, Technology and Computer Science (CoETCS) Alumni & Supporters!
On November 2nd, 2007 the Tennessee State University Engineering voted to establish a CoETCS student pre-engineering program fund, named in honor of Dean Decatur Rogers and all other deans who created pre-college programs that provided a pipeline of students to the CoETCS. TSU CoETCS/Dr. Decatur Rogers Student Pre-Engineering Readiness Fund (“CoETCS Student Pre-Engineering Readiness Fund” or “SPERF”) is established to support CoETCS ‘logo’ pre-college programs like Engineering Concepts Institute (E.C.I.), Minority’s Introduction to Engineering (M.I.T.E.) and others.
After months of negotiation and planning, on August 25th, the TSUEAA entered into an agreement with the TSU Foundation to establish the SPER. This fund is now active and in force within the TSU Foundation. The goal of the SPERF is to provide $50,000 per year in financial support of TSU CoETCS pre-college programs. Unless otherwise requested by the giver, $.50 of every dollar will be set aside to build this endowed account, while the other $.50 will annually be direct to the CoETCS student pre-college programs. It is the intent of the TSUEAA to grow the principle of this endowed account over time so that it will perpetually generate the desired revenue to support these programs.
